was
founded by seven Jewish women at Barnard College in New York on October
24, 1909. This sorority would endeavor to foster lifelong friendship and
sisterhood, academics, social involvement and community service, all the
while providing a home away from home for its members.
The dream that was born in a dorm room at Barnard College in 1909 continues
to succeed, prosper and thrive on over 50 college and university campuses
nationwide. welcomes
with open arms hundreds of new members each year and seeks not only to
live up to the ideals and goals of its original founders, but also to
exceed them.
At Ohio State, 's
are members of a lifelong sisterhood built on a foundation of friendship
and loyalty. In our sorority, there is commitment, understanding, and
opportunity for growth. Here, you will be encouraged to excel through
academic excellence, leadership development, social enrichment, and philanthropic
involvement. It is these ideals that we embrace and develop in every Alpha
Epsilon Phi member.
We have a distinguished history that is rich in tradition, value and character
and the ideals set forth by our founders are what we still live by today.
Individual aspirations combined with the common goals of 's
are ultimately expressed in our open motto: Multa Corda, Una Causa, “Many
Hearts, One Purpose”
Cultivating these characteristics in turn helps us reach one of our goals
- to provide each member with a rewarding experience which will assist
in her success during the best years of her life - her college years and
beyond.
